WELCOME,
This blog is dedicated to support organic agriculture and farming in the Philippines.
As we all know our land is slowly and continuously dying. Our soil becomes degraded and our crops is not safe to eat anymore. Why is this happening and what can we do about it?
We are on the chemical age since 1900's, where everything is increasingly becomes toxic for us. Our environment promotes acidity. The air we breathe, the liquids we drink, the food we eat, the drugs and medicine we consume and the stressful society in which we live in.
This happens because we don't take care of our soil anymore. As the 32nd U.S. President said, "A nation that destroys its soil destroys itself".
We knew but we sometimes don't care at all, that a healthy soil is essential for the production of crops used to feed humans and livestock. Unfortunately, industrial agriculture practices continue to damage and deplete this valuable natural resource.
While intensive plowing and monocrop agriculture systems have caused nutrient depletion and wide-scale erosion, over-application of fertilizers and pesticides has contaminated our soils and polluted our airways.
Now what can we do about it?
The Republic Act of the Philippines 10068 or also known as the "Organic Agriculture Act of 2010" is AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURE IN THE PHILIPPINES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
We have to be serious about it and support our farmers providing them the right resources for organic agriculture that will lessen the use of synthetic fertilizers and increase their harvests. We have to help farmers.
No Farmers! No Food! They are the most important group of people who provides us what we necessarily need.
I hope that this blog will inspire you and be an organic farming advocater too. Welcome to organic revolution advocacy! Let's do this together and save our planet Earth.
